Why We Document Every Trade
A trade that lives only in memory cannot be audited. When every position carries a written rationale — the hypothesis, the market context, the exposure taken — the decision becomes something that can be revisited without the distortion of hindsight.
Over time, this record becomes the most valuable research asset a trading desk owns. It shows which setups genuinely perform, which are sustained by luck, and where judgement consistently drifts from process. None of that is visible without the document trail.
For us, documentation is not administration. It is the raw material of continuous improvement — the difference between a desk that repeats its mistakes and one that compounds its learning.
